I was inspired to launch this over two years ago after putting together my own children’s birthday goodie bags. I wanted fun and silly and hard-to-source toys and candy. After spending an afternoon going all over town collecting a bunch of special little items I thought, “I wish I could just buy it all in one place.” I started working on a special favor section for the Oh Happy Day Party Shop.
As I started sourcing things from all over the world, I realized that not every busy parent wants to curate their own goodie bags. About the same time I noticed a goodie bag by Randi Brookman Harris, a NYC stylist. I followed her on instagram and loved her curations. Randi previously worked as an Editor at Martha Stewart and has spent her career styling some of my favorite images for the best publications and companies in the world. I randomly reached out to her to ask if she would want to collaborate and she said “yes.” Randi has spent the last year sourcing, collecting and curating these favor kits. We needed special packaging for these kits so I asked graphic designer Linsey Laidlaw to make some for us. It is so clever and funny and has vintage party photos with pretty gold foil.
If you’re the parent that just wants to put together your own favor kits the Oh Happy Day Party Shop now sells an extremely curated line of over 100 toys and candies from all over the world. Everything was carefully picked and was only chosen it if it was fun, special, cool, or beautiful. I’m so happy to finally put this baby out into the world! A special thanks and congrats to the Oh Happy Day Shop team who has spent so much time, ordering, reordering, packaging, wrangling spreadsheets, styling and prepping everything for today. Oh Happy Day!
