I love sewing slip covers for my pillows. It is such a quick and easy way to add colour or change up the whole look and feel of a room. I recently designed a new set of pillows for our living room, and this deer design is a big hit!

It is sewn from soft cuddly fleece and features a reverse appliqued deer head on the front. Reverse applique is a technique where you layer two fabrics and cut away the top one, allowing you to view the fabric below. The plaid print is some cotton shirting I had left over from another project, but any quilting cotton would work too.

The pillow cover closes in the back with an envelope style closure. This means you don’t have to worry about zippers or buttons, making it an easy sew!
